Sir Wilson Whineray KNZM OBE
Sir Wilson Whineray has led the nation on rugby grounds, in business and across the community.
He has influenced and inspired many to lead and is regarded as this country’s greatest all-round All-Black captain.
After gaining an MBA from Harvard Business School he joined Carter Holt Harvey Ltd.
He served as deputy managing director, and chairman of directors.
He chaired the Hillary Commission, which encourages people to get involved in sport and physical activity and funds sports bodies to this end.
He was New Zealand Sportsman of the Year in 1965.
